A little help getting started

Start with Bluetooth. Once your kit is added, its activities, adjustments and controls stay together in Controls.

Add and connect a kit

  1. Power on the kit and keep it near your phone. Disconnect it from any other phone or USB control session.
  2. Open Kits → Add kit. Allow Bluetooth access when asked. On Android with EurekaSTEM 1.0.0, choose the kit in the system device chooser.
  3. Match the kit’s printed identity, let the app verify compatibility, and add it.
  4. Open Controls and connect. Follow the preparation steps for that kit before running it.

Kits is where you add, rename or remove hardware. Creating projects and adjusting an added kit belong in Controls.

If Bluetooth will not connect

On Android, turn on your phone’s Location Services if the system kit chooser asks for it. Android requires this setting for nearby-device discovery; EurekaSTEM does not request location permission or read your geographic location.

Check the kit’s power and the app’s Bluetooth permission in your phone settings. Disconnect the kit in other apps; in Workbench, release the USB connection before using the phone. Move closer and try again. If needed, close and reopen EurekaSTEM, then power-cycle the idle kit.

A kit that is discovered but fails verification may need compatible firmware. Contact us with its printed ID, app version and the message on screen.

What the two QR codes do

GET THE APP: scan with your normal phone camera to open the app download page. Downloads appear there when each store release becomes available. This code does not pair a kit.

WI-FI SETUP: scan inside EurekaSTEM to open the kit’s optional setup flow. Follow the prompts for ESP BLE Provisioning, choose a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network there, and return to EurekaSTEM. Scanning alone does not connect the kit to Wi-Fi. Normal Bluetooth control does not need a router.

EurekaDraw: prepare before drawing

Remove the pen and keep the mechanism clear. In Controls, connect, request the assembly position, compare the arms with the guide and confirm alignment. Then Home the robot. Do not force powered servo arms.

In Robot tools → Pen height setup, follow the empty-holder step, lower the holder, and tighten the pen when its tip barely touches the paper. Adjust the raised position in small steps until the tip clears the paper. Test down and up, then save. Excess pressure or too little lift can drag the pen and distort a drawing.

Angle adjustments, fine-tuning and pen calibration require compatible firmware. Workbench 0.5.3 includes firmware 0.8.0-pen. Updating the phone app does not update the robot’s firmware. Use Stop if a motion looks wrong.
