Privacy policy

What stays on your device

The app stores your kit names and identifiers, connection information, saved projects, preferences and, when enabled, your last selected kit. These help the app reopen your workspace and connect to the right hardware. We do not receive a copy of this workspace on our servers.

You can delete saved kits and projects in the app. Removing the app normally removes its local data; device backups may retain or restore it according to your operating system and backup settings. Removing a kit from the app does not reset settings saved on the physical kit.

Camera and Bluetooth

Camera access is optional and used only when you open QR scanning. QR codes are read on your phone; camera frames are not saved or uploaded. This release uses an embedded scanner on Android and the native camera scanner on iPhone and iPad.

Bluetooth is used to find a kit you choose, check its identity and compatibility, and exchange commands, project paths and operating status with it. On Android, a system device chooser associates the kit with the app. The app does not request geographic location or use kit discovery to track where you are.

Information sent to a kit is used to carry out your instructions. Firmware and calibration settings may remain on that kit until you change or reset them. Normal Bluetooth control does not require an internet connection.

Optional Wi-Fi and outside services

On supported kits, optional Wi-Fi setup uses the separate Espressif provisioning app. Network credentials are entered there and supplied to the kit; EurekaSTEM does not store your Wi-Fi password. Local backup controls load a page served by the selected kit.

If you choose to open our website, an app store, the provisioning app or your email app, that service processes information under its own policy. EurekaSTEM does not silently send your projects to those services.

Support requests and our website

If you email us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send so we can respond. Please avoid including student names, personal details or unrelated content in screenshots. We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the enquiry and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Our website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and its hosting providers. They may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and requests to deliver and protect the site. We have not added advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account forms or student uploads to this website.

Parents and educators

The app does not ask students for a name, date of birth, email address or account login. It has no public profiles, chat or public project sharing. Parents and educators can ask us questions about privacy or request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information supplied through a support enquiry.

Earlier test builds

Earlier Android test builds in the 0.4 series used Google ML Kit for QR scanning. That SDK can send installation identifiers and technical usage, performance and error information to Google. See Google’s ML Kit data disclosure. That scanner is being replaced for the 1.0.0 release described above. Earlier iPhone test builds used the native camera scanner.
